You too can help a person in need by donating.

The news of cancer diagnosis comes as a rude shock to any individual, rich or poor, she or he undergoes fear and confusion in addition to the physical suffering. The family is struck with the enormity of the likely expenses. Often they hesitate to start the treatment.

This where our Bridge Fund steps in so that needy patients do not delay going to the hospital and starting treatment. The fund provides financial assistance for diagnosis and/ or initial, limited-time treatment to low-income group patients diagnosed with any kind of curable cancer. The treatment funding is meant to tide over the period until the main financial assistance is sanctioned and will be restricted to the first one month of treatment.

This financial assistance is given to cover costs of any aspect of cancer-directed treatment including surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, medicines, tests conducted through the empanelled hospitals in Karnataka. Applications which are forwarded by the hospitals are scrutinised by a doctor and applications are passed within 24 working hours. This initial assistance ensures that the patient does not delay starting with her or his treatment, since this all-important step will ensure prompt medical attention before the problem aggravates.

Over the last few years we have disbursed Rs 2.5 crores to nearly 1000 beneficiaries through our partner hospitals. We are happy we could assist so many needy patients, young and old, women and men to start their treatment without delay, thus adding years and quality to their life.
